The Oslo T-Bane is the metro rapid transit system of Oslo, Norway, operated by Sporveien T-banen on contract from the transit authority Ruter.

BACKGROUND

The Dubai Metro is a fully automated rail system spanning nearly 89 km across the Emirate of Dubai

It uses radio communication to transfer information for real-time train control.
Oslo Metro’s new system will replace the old signalling systems, some of which date back to the 1960s, enabling increased line capacity by allowing shorter distances between metro trains travelling on the same line.

All lines run through the city centre, with two of the lines running to Kolsås and Østerås, in the neighbouring municipality of Bærum.

This safety-related, time-critical application for train control imposes stringent reliability, availability and quality requirements on the radio communication technology used.
